MCA sisters welcome a new member

Sisters of Mary Consoler of the Afflicted have welcomed a newly professed sister to their congregation.

This took place at a colorful ceremony held at the Bishop’s residence grounds on Saturday 6th August 2022.

Addressing the congregation gathered for the function, Bishop Peter Musikuwa of the Diocese, who was also the main celebrant, stressed on the need for the religious to remain committed to keeping their vows.

Added to the flock

“You live a truly religious life when you keep your vows and refrain from living like an ordinary person.”

In his remarks, Mr Damiston who is father to Sr Hellen who did her first profession on the day hailed the congregation for its charism which he says leaves a mark on both the beneficiaries and the sisters themselves.

During the same function two postulants entered the novitiate while five girls became postulants.The Sisters of Mary Consoler of the Afflicted is a local lay movement for the Diocese of Chikwawa with a view of growing into a local congregation of sisters.

It was began by late Bishop Felix Mkhori with two sisters Elizabeth Lapozo and Rosemary Limbani as its pioneers.
