Church to celebrate 56th World Day of Social Communications.
The Episcopal Conference of Malawi(ECM) has announced this year’s celebration of World Day for Social Communications.
In a letter dated 12th May 2022 and addressed to all Diocesan Social Communication Coordinators, the communication states that the celebration will be held on 29th May 2022 under the theme “Listening with the ear of the heart”.
“It is against this background that I wish to inform you that in consultation with the Bishop Chairman for Social Communications, this year’s World Day of Social Communications will be celebrated on 29th May 2022, the Sunday of the Ascension which is the actual day when the universal Church observes the World Day of Social Communications under the theme
“LISTENING WITH THE EAR OF THE HEART.” Reads the letter.
The World day for Social Communications was instituted in the Church with an aim of appreciating the role that communication plays in the mission of the church, reflecting on its benefits, challenges and opportunities it offers. It is also a day that the faithful are encouraged to offer their resources for the proclamation of the gospel through social communication.
