Mzimu Woyera Seminary set to enroll form One Students

Mzimu Woyera Minor Seminary of Chikwawa Diocese will administer entrance examinations for 2023 academic year later this year in the month of July.

In a letter addressed to priests in different parishes of the diocese, these examinations will take place in all the parishes on 16th July 2022.

In a move that shows a shift in the way students are enrolled, this year’s enrolled includes candidates for form One. The letter announces that there will be enrollment of Standard 8 and Form One classes thus year. As such parishes are asked to register candidates for both classes.

Priests have need asked to scrutinize the suitability of the candidates before they are allowed to sit for the examinations.

“The candidates must be baptized and confirmed Catholics of good behavior. They should not be more than 15 years of age. Those to begin Standard Eight should currently be in Standard Seven. Those to begin Form One should be the ones who will write PSI-CE this year.” Reads part of the letter.

Mzimu Woyera Seminary is an education institution for Chikwawa Diocese, which was establish to form young boys as they discern their vocation to priesthood. Established in the 1980’s, the seminary has formed many young people some of whom are priests and others responsible citizens who are contributing vastly to the development of this country.

The enrollment of form one candidates is the first of its kind and probably signals the administration’s shift from enrolling students to begin their seminary journey from standard 8.

This year, the candidates will be examined in Mathematics, English and general Knowledge.
