Chikwawa has two new priests

Chikwawa diocese held a beautiful ceremony, where two deacons were ordained priests.

The celebration was attended by large crowd of Catholic faithful, and took place on Saturday 23rd October 2021, at Chikwawa cathedral.

In his sermon, bishop Musikuwa, implored on the newly ordained priests, to remember always that a priest is to take the example of Christ in total sacrifice of service to the kingdom.

Speaking at the end of celebration, Fr Stanford Sungani, was full of thanks to God for the special calling to priesthood.

“we also owe gratitude to the bishop of this diocese, priests, religious and the faithful, for accompanying us on this journey.” Added Fr Sungani

At the same function, the bishop opened the Synod in the diocese, a two-year participatory process in the lead up to the Synod of bishops in Rome in 2023.

Announcing the places of work for the new priests, the bishop said that Fr Isaac Gerald Jackson will serve in Njale parish while Fr Stanford Sungani will go and serve in Nchalo parish.

Fr Sungani comes from Molere parish, and Fr Jackson is from Ngabu parish.
