DOC Social Services Director inspects APA projects in T/A Makhuwira

The Director of Social Services Directorate of Chikwawa diocese, Father Mathews Semba, on Tuesday September 14, paid a visit to some projects being implemented by the diocese’s Health Commission.

His visited Ana Patsogolo Project that is implemented at Makhuwira Health Centre, in Traditional Authority Makhuwira in Chikwawa district, one of project’s Catchment areas.

Speaking during the visitation, Fr Semba expressed satisfaction with how the Project is being managed in the area.

 “I am satisfied looking at the way the project is managed in this area”. He said. He further urged the community Case workers in the project to work extra hard in order to reach out to many who are in need of the services.

In his remarks, the ministry of health representative, who is also District Antiretroviral Coordinator for Chikwawa District Health Office, Marko Suzumire, advised the team to ensure confidentiality when handling data. He said that this is because the project handles the information of Children and people living with HIV and AIDS.

“You need to respect your clients’ privacy when executing your duties in the community to ensure that people’s status remains unknown the public.” Said Suzumire.

One of the Child protection Workers in the area, Leonard Mussa, expressed gratitude to the Director for paying a visit. He therefore asked the Director to address some challenges that the project is facing in the area in good time.

A consortium Ana Patsogolo Project is a five-year activity to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability of orphans and Vulnerable Children, caregivers and adolescent girls and young women in Malawi. Currently, the project has five facilities at Makhuwira Health Centre, Ngabu Rural Hospital, Ngabu SDA Hospital, Chikwawa District Hospital and Montfort Hospital, working in collaboration with Partners in Hope.
