CMO launched at Misomali Parish
There was joy at Misomali Parish in the Diocese of Chikwawa on 17th June 2023 as they were launching the Catholic Men Organization (CMO) during the commemoration of the Parish’s Patron, the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The celebrations took place at Phwadzi Community Day Secondary School ground.
The Eucharistic Celebration was led by Rt. Rev. Peter Musikuwa , Bishop of the Diocese of Chikwawa.
In his speech, Bishop Musikuwa commended the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Martin Hannock and his curate, Rev. Fr. Cephas Namalomba for their efforts in making the function possible.He also extended his gratitude to CMO and CWO members, the Guest of Honor, the youth and all the delegates for making the ceremony colourful.
The Bishop also advised CMO members to be well mannered as expected by the Church. He added that their good conduct will cause a change of heart to those who are not participating in Church activities.
CMO Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Shadreck Malata expressed his gratitude to the Bishop for his passion and commitment towards CMO establishment in the Diocese.
The Chaplain thanked the Parish Priest and his curate for the support they render to CMO. He emphasized that the Church wants men to be transformed in their ways of doing things and to take active roles in the Church.
Emmanuel Hagrela, who is the Chairman of the Diocesan Executive committee stated that The Sacred Heart of Jesus, Misomali Parish was the first to launch CMO in Chikwawa Deanery and fourth in the Diocese. Hagrela, who is also the Vice Chairperson of the CMO in the National Executive Committee, reminded men to nurture their children as per the homily made by the Lord Bishop, and women to be humble.
The ceremony was marked by planting a grafted mango tree.
In the end, there was a football match between Changoima and Misomali Parishes, and Changoima were the winners with 3 goals to 1.
