Church Prays for Departed Clergy- Bishop Musikuwa leads memorial mass

On 26th November, Bishop Peter Musikuwa presided over a memorial mass for departed Bishops, Priests, nuns and catechists who ministered and served in the Diocese of Chikwawa.


The memorial is held every year in the month of November, a month set aside by the Church to pray for souls of all those who have passed on to the other life.
The memorial mass was celebrated at the Cathedral with special prayers for the departed ministers held at the Diocesan Cemetery for the clergy.

Holy mass underway


In the company of diocesan Priests and families of the deceased priests and the lay faithful, Bishop Musikuwa prayed for God’s mercy on the departed souls. He said his is a strong belief that God is full of mercy and compassion and that his generosity is immeasurable.


The Bishop blessed all people who came from various parishes in the Diocese in which these priests have ministered and those who cared for them in their latter days.
