Chikwawa Diocese announces the coming of SMMI Sisters
Bishop Peter Musikuwa of the diocese of Chikwawa has, today 5th November 2021, announced the coming of a new congregation for sisters in the diocese.
In a written communication signed by the diocesan pastoral coordinator, the bishop expresses his delight in announcing the coming of the Community of Salesian Missionaries of Mary Immaculate (SMMI,) as the sisters will be assisting in the pastoral mission of the church.
“We expect them to arrive in Malawi on 12th December 2021. They will officially be welcomed in the diocese of Chikwawa on 18th December 2021. Eucharistic celebration will start at 9:30 am at Chikwawa Cathedral and to be presided over by Rt Rev Peter Musikuwa. Reads part of the letter.
SMMI sisters are a congregation from India. They will be assisting at Montfort Hospital in Nchalo.
