Fr Mwakhwawa appointed Auxiliary Bishop
Pope Francis has appointed Rev Fr Vincent Mwakhwawa as Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Lilongwe.
The announcement has been made in a letter from the Conference signed by the Very Reverend Fr Valeriano Mtseka, who is the Secretary General.
“The Episcopal Conference of Malawi is pleased to announce that His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Rev Fr Vincent Fredrick Mwakhwawa, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Lilongwe as the Auxiliary Bishop of the same Archdiocese.” Reads the letter.
The appointment has been announced officially in Rome, Vatican City, at 1300hrs local time.
Born on 20th November 1975 in Salima District, Fr Vincent comes from St Paul’s, NKhotakota parish.
At the time of his appointment as Auxiliary Bishop, he is National Director for PMS, and Vicar General for the Archdiocese.
