Deacon Peter Tembo ordained a priest

Deacon Peter Tembo of the Diocese of Chikwawa has been ordained a priest. Now Rev Fr Peter Tembo, he was ordained to priesthood by Rt Rev Bishop Peter Musikuwa of the diocese during a priestly ordination ceremony on Saturday 13^th August 2022 at St Michael’s cathedral.

The ceremony was cerebrated together with hundreds of the faithful from around the diocese. There were also visitors from other dioceses.

At the peak of the celebration the deacon lay prostrate in a show of humility and supplication to the Lord while the bishop and priests knelt in prayer as the choir led the congregants in chanting the litany of all saints.

In his sermon, Bishop Musikuwa urged the new priest to focus his gaze on Christ as he serves his flock.

He added that being the newly ordained priest, he brings more joy to the church as he faces the task of preaching the gospel, to shepherd Gods people and celebrate the sacraments for them.

Fr Tembo hails from Alick Chisi village, T/A Muzikabola in Mzimba District.
