Msiyadungu appointed National CCJP Coordinator

The Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) has announced the appointment of Mr Lewis Msiyadungu, as National Coordinator for the Justice and Peace Commission. Msiyadungu, who until his appointment, was Diocesan Coordinator for CCJP for Chikwawa, assumed office on 15th November 2024.

“I am pleased to inform you that the ECM Bishops have selected you to fill the vacant position on a secondment in Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace National Office in Lilongwe as National CCJP Coordinator.” Reads part of the letter.

In a letter dated 15th November 2024, Archbishop George Desmond Tambala, who is the Chairperson for the ECM, reminded Msiyadungu of the huge responsibility that comes with such a position, and which has to be taken with the seriousness and commitment it deserves. He further encouraged Mr Msiyadungu to be diligent, building teamwork, listening to and being sensitive to each member of the community and the general body.

The appointment is being viewed by many as a vote of confidence on Mr Lewis whose loyalty to the Church is unmatched, having served the Diocese of Chikwawa for along time.
