She said sometimes they could take drugs while hungry that led to some health complications to the children.
In her remarks Case Management Officer of the project Susan Banaba said the food items would assist the affected children to boost their immunity while taking the antiretroviral treatment.
Beneficiaries were those Children living with HIV from Traditional Authority Makhuwira, Kasisi, Lundu and Ngabu.
Items donated were Maize flour, beans, cooking oil, sugar, Likuni phala and salt.
While expressing appreciation for the gesture, Officer in Charge of Makhuwira Health Centre, Felix Mwenda assured that the items would be used judiciously by the beneficiaries.
He further advised the primary caregivers of the affected children not to sale the items. Mwe nda encouraged them to come at the facility to collect ART drugs for their children, for them to be in a healthier status.
He also appealed to the commission not to stop giving the food support assistance to the Children living with HIV in the district.
