Vatican appoints Father Chifukwa as bishop of Dedza Diocese

His Holiness Pope Francis has, today, 8th May 2021, appointed Reverend Father Peter Adrian Chifukwa as the bishop of Dedza diocese.

in a letter, the Episcopal Conference of Malawi, says that the Pope will make the official announcement later in the day. Fr Henry Saindi who is the conference’s secretary general made the announcement public by noon today 8th May 2021.

Fr Chifukwa’s appointment comes after years of episcopal vacancy in Dedza after the demise of Bishop Emmanuel Kanyama.
